Power Generation

Louis Allis offers single-source service and repairs for AC & DC electric motors and generators, including steam and gas turbine generators, used in power generating applications in fossil fuel plants, hydroelectric power plants, and nuclear power plants. Our global service coverage comes with one standard for safety, quality, service, and value, and we have field-experienced technicians and resources to handle emergency outages and short lead times.

Louis Allis offers a full spectrum of electrical tests including EL CID, corona probe, MCE, polarization index, surge, Hi-pot, and partial discharge. We also provide engineering evaluations with uprate and design services, for more power and reliability in the same footprint.

Oil & Gas

Louis Allis can support both your upstream and midstream oil and gas needs. Whether on a land, offshore oil rig, or pipeline pumping station, we offer single-source service and repair capabilities for electric motors and generators up to 13 kV. Our 7000 Series frames have been a staple for the gas compression industry for decades. We offer in-shop repairs and field services for oil & gas customers, plus asset storage and management and custom manufacturing for drop-in replacement electric motors and generators, stators, rotors, armatures, and specialty replacement parts.

Louis Allis has extensive experience with all types of AC & DC electric motors and generators. Aggregates and Cement

Louis Allis offers single-source services for aggregate & cement plants, batching plants, and cement mixing plants including service, emergency outage support, repair, and replacement on NEMA frame motors for large, medium, and high voltage motors deployed for blowers, kiln drivers, crushers, conveyors, and ball mills. Other services include VPI rewinds that are proven in harsh, dynamic environments, with improved power density, reliability, and efficiency.

We also offer vibration analysis & alignment for gearboxes, pumps, fans, and compressors. Some Louis Allis specialty motor and motor service customers include National Cement, Lhoist NA, Lehigh Hanson, Carmeuse Lime and Stone, Cimbar Performance Minerals, and Argos Cement and Cemex.

Marine

Louis Allis has all your marine-duty AC & DC electric motor, alternator, and generator application needs covered. Louis Allis is certified for MIL-STD-2037 Navy Sealed System Windings. We offer new motor manufacturing, in-shop repair, field service, and preventative maintenance and rebuild programs for marine applications such as AC & DC Bow Thruster motors, Auxiliary Propulsion Units (APU), Over Side Dredge Pump (OSDP) motors, Wench/Hoist motors, and EMD alternator and generator applications.

Our field service team conducts annual regulatory surveys of propulsion and bow thruster motor and generator sets including testing, cleaning, and repair. Louis Allis has a rich history of providing specialty marine motors to the military for nearly 100 years.

Petrochemical

With petrochemical motor installations across the globe, Louis Allis has the expertise to support the unique demands of the petrochemical industry including strict environmental regulations and emphasis on low resource consumption. We are well-versed in meeting the requirements of API and IEEE specifications for new motor manufacturing and motor repair. Louis Allis is able to provide custom-built drop-in replacement motors for critical petrochemical equipment with quick turnaround solutions available through our Factory Recertified program.

Military

Louis Allis has been supplying motors for the Navy and Military since 1941. The Louis Allis Company was the first manufacturer of electric motors to receive the Army/Navy “E” award for excellence in production. It was also one of the first companies of any kind to be awarded the Fifth Star, denoting three full years of continuous outstanding contribution to the war effort.

The United States Military has a myriad of specialty electric motor applications and has always been able to depend upon the specialty products that Louis Allis has faithfully supplied for more than 70 years. Louis Allis designs and manufactures military motors in accordance with MIL-M-17060. In addition, Louis Allis has received certification from the Navy to wind sealed insulation system motors in accordance with MIL-STD-2037.
